Kelly Schweitzer

  • Tap Division

  • Competition Team Choreographer

Originally from the Southside of Chicago, Kelly brings extensive dance training in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Musical Theatre. As a Mother McAuley Alumni, Kelly followed her passion for dance and musical theatre to Millikin University’s Musical Theatre Program: earning a BFA in Musical Theatre, as well as Minors in Dance and Creative Writing. She has also trained with Chicago’s Lou Conte Dance Center, as well as at Joel Hall and the former Applause Dance Academy.

Over the past 15+ years Kelly has proudly lead the tap division at Dance Gallery. Over the years Miss Kelly has instructed thousands of our tappers and jazz students of all ages: from tiny tap, to the adult advanced classes!

My Classes are unique, LOUD, super fun and educational. I believe in killer technique and repetition, as well as challenging and encouraging my students to see what they can really do. If they do not understand a certain step: I will say it another way. We will find away to learn & grow together. Even the quietest kid can really come out of their shell!

Miss Kelly also lead our Dance Gallery Competition team to earn First Place in Chicago, with her advanced tap and advanced jazz original choreography!

Our Dance Gallery Chicago elite tap dancers also performed a tap piece on the infamous Disney World: Magical Kingdom Stage! (Summer 2018).

In addition to instruction and choreography, Kelly adores her 2 babies, as well as enjoys performing in the Chicago area. She recently competed in the local singing competition “The One” with Bourbon Street, and placed as a top-5 finalist. She has trained with the exclusive pianist for “Redhead Piano Bar”, In Chicago. She performed on NBC’s 2006 production of “Grease, You’re The One That I Want”, as well as played Leisl for local OLPD production of “The Sound of Music.” Kelly also previously performed in the All-State Theatre Production of “Pirates of Penzance”

‘This is my 15th season with Dance Gallery Chicago studio and I consider it my home away from home. I hope that my own babies will dance here! Come join us for tap class! Tuesday’s and Saturday’s at Dance Gallery!’
